Big Drive For Education Golf Scramble, Friday August 16, 2019

Over $41,000 raised for NWIC Students & Programs!

The Big Drive for Education Celebrity Golf Scramble was a blast and your support made it possible. This year we hosted the Big Drive on August 16th, at Lummi Nation’s legendary Loomis Trail Golf Course. With your help we raised over $41,000 for NWIC Athletics, scholarships, and student success initiatives!

Notah Begay NB3 Junior Golf Camp

This year was particularly significant because it introduced students, community members, and tribal youth to the sport of golf. On August 15th NWIC hosted the Notah Begay Foundation’s “NB3 Junior Golf Camp.” Our NWIC students and NB3 Professionals shared the basic dynamics of golf and wellness with over 40 Lummi youth. The NWIC administration has caught the golf fever and the college is now happy to announce its first ever collegiate golf team!

Big Thank You To All Participants!

It was a great day for golf, but the success did not stay on the green! Over 30 local businesses donated to our raffle baskets & exclusive prizes to ensure all participants went home a winner. With your continued support we are able to continue teaching generations and building a bridge between the golf industry, tribal youth, and higher education. On behalf of Northwest Indian College, the Northwest Indian College Foundation, and our students, “Hysh’qe Siam Xwe’nanget Sales” (thank you for your helping hands).

Funding from the Big Drive for Education supports student athletes and NWIC’s Athletic Department by providing scholarships and opportunities to participate in sports such as Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Women’s Volleyball, Co-ed Softball, Golfing, and more.
