Larry is a founding member of the Northwest Indian College Foundation and is the current President. He has served since 1988. He sits at the request of his aunt the late Florence (Mote) Kinley who set up the Florence and Forrest Kinley Scholarship Fund.
He strongly believed that an education is essential to the long term survival of us as a people especially under our own terms. Larry has a B.S. in Business from Chaminade University of Honolulu. During his 18 years of service on the Lummi Tribal Council, he along with other members worked on bringing our ancestores dream to fruition of a tribal college in the Northwest.
In addition, he currently serves on two other boards, The National Center for Indian Enterprise Development and the Sycuan Tribal Development Corporation.
He is a lifelong commercial fisherman, married to Eleanor (Ellie) Kinley and has four children and three grandchildren. He lives on the Lummi Reservation.
