- leadership development
This degree fosters social mobility, improves economic opportunities, and promotes innovationand civic engagement, contributing to the ongoing growth and autonomy of our Native communities.
Thanks to the generosity of the Johnson Scholarship Foundation (JSF) and the many donors who donate to JSF match, we are able to provide critical financial support to students pursuing the Tribal Government and Business Management degree. These scholarships help ease the financial burdens that often accompany higher education, allowing students to focus on their studies.
“Receiving this scholarship has given me the opportunity to fully dedicate myself to my classesand deepen my understanding of how to make a meaningful difference in my community. I currently work with the Nooksack Tribal Youth and Education Program, and I’ve seen firsthand how much the youth look up to those of us in college. Their determination inspires me, and I make it a point to encourage them in their education. I’m excited about how my education is shaping me to create lasting change in my community. My goal is to use my degree to help elevate my Tribe—whether as a program director or through a role on the tribal council.”Lydia (Quat’ise) Jimmy Wilmington (Nooksack) Tribal Governance and Business Management student JSF scholarship recipient.
